Wouldn't you just know it!

Morning all!

Well....wouldn't you just know it...I started to get excited about my upcoming trip and in a moment of weakness told a real life work colleague about it...within the hour I was called into the office and told that my contract would not be extended....I finish tomorrow!

Ok, so that reads like the two are related - and I feel that they only are in that the universe is laughing at me! Teaching me a lesson for daring to have any hope of enjoyment in my immediate future.

They aren't related. Originally my contract was due to end at the end of July and that is why I had not booked a holiday, but about three weeks ago I was told that they wanted to extend me...and the process had begun...until yesterday when I was told that some team reshuffle meant the budget for me was being spent on someone else.

I am angry that they left it so late to tell me but not surprised, they have a habit of doing this, but I am also upset because my two good friends here are both on leave this week so I won't get to say goodbye (they are work friends and we don't socialise outside of that, not because we wouldn't but just it hasn't happened). It hurts because I have been here almost two years and if I wanted to leave I have to give a weeks notice. Its frustrating because I am spending money on my trip that I had been saving as a cushion should I be unemployed and because I was being extended decided to book the trip. So yesterday I was a bit emotional, and today I am bloody minded, so I of course will do my work but I won't be in any hurry about it. I also don't want to think that it is personal - remember I am an INTJ so that is definitely what is going on in my head! - and so I am being positive. I am a pro at shoveling the faeces that gets flung my way and so I am continuing with my trip (I have one VERY VERY excited 6 year old on my hands!) and I am going to worry about it all when I get home. So expect panic stations in two weeks time and maybe a little too many blog posts!

However, all being said, I have started writing some blog posts about the planning stages or my travels and I will be posting them on a blog that I created over a year ago but have never posted anything on, and that blog is called...Travels with my notebook. I shall post about my travels on there starting with Germany...but occasionally I may review or re-review past travel destinations.

A german joke apparently....

A man walks off the street into a dentist's office.
"Doctor, you got to help me! I keep having these delusions that I'm a moth."
"That really sounds like something you visit a psychiatrist about," replies the dentist.
"I know," says the man, "but your light was on."

I like it! hehehehe

In other news, I have decided to take the next Joan Elliott decoration with me to stitch along with Frozen. I will save frozen for the evenings and stitch the decoration on the trains. I need to sort that tonight.

p.s I included the ecards to make myself laugh! Laughter cures all ailments...almost :)

Please feel free to share your GOOD news in the comments below.

#IHSW July

Hello!

'tis I....

I started stitching on the Frozen project this weekend and in all honesty it was like wading through mud!

I was also unsure about the colour choices but decided to go with it and see how it looked. I am quite happy with it, even with the darker colours, and I figure when it has been on her wall for any amount of time it will fade. Also, from afar it looks pretty good even if I do say so myself!

I hope you all managed to put a few stitches in this weekend too.

Here is my progress...

and a reminder of the target...

Now I am off to see how you all got on!

Decision made!!!

Morning,

Well I am having a weird day, on one hand I am really pleased that I made a decision about my trip next week, and on the other hand I am really annoyed with people at work who made minimal effort to decorate a friends desk this morning for her 50th!

Lets start with the negative...my friend is 50 but luckily for her she doesnt look it...today is her last day at work until her birthday and office tradition is to decorate that persons desk (special ages only).

I first met her eight years ago when I started here and we got along well, we both have the same working style and a silly sense of humour and have no shame in not acting our age! Although I have since moved about the University and have worked in the same department as her on occasion, we have stayed in contact via emails & IM at work. I consider her a really good friend. As an employee she is hard working, conscientious and reliable. She is never off sick, never late, and never takes more than her allotted lunch time. She doesn't go off for multiple coffee breaks or in anyway take advantage. Unlike me she is much friendlier to people. Basically, she is awesome!

I only realised on Wednesday that her last day at work would be today, so I contacted someone in her team about what was happening, if they were doing anything. I was told that there was a card going around (that I could sign if I could find it!) and that because this person didn't work Fridays they didn't really know. I contacted another person who told me that her line manager was going to decorate her desk with some sparklies but that was it. They kept telling me how they weren't mentioning how old she was in case she was sensitive about it....erm....do they even know this woman! Anyhoo, on Wednesday I printed off some stuff and bought a banner just in case. I was thinking I could add my stuff to theirs if there was space....I arrived this morning and this is her "decorated" desk...

I hope you can all see the sparkiles, some streamers and the cards. I have no issue about the cards but the decoration?? I had that much decoration on my birthday and it wasn't even a special one! Yes, yes, my blood is boiling! She is so nice to people and does what she can for charity and I am quite livid. Hurt me = fine, hurt my friends = NO WAY! Nothing makes you feel as unloved as this level of effort when you have seen the parades for your colleagues.

Anyhoo, I did my best with what I had, and this is my effort....

Not perfect, I know, i just expected more from them...and yes she WILL LOVE the candles...hehhehe....because she has a sense of humour!

The bag contains her gifts and cake and card but...I hope I have done enough. Her team mates are going straight on the naughty list or better still in the book!.

Ok, rant over.....

The good news!!! I have made a decision regarding my trip but it has got a little complicated.

I decided that Germany was going to be the place I went this year and it will probably be my last trip until October 2016 when I hope to be going to Canada! So lots of saving will have to take place.

Once I decided where, I thought about what to do and where to go, and Germany is a pretty big country and I often forget that but decided to reach out for advice. Thanks to all those who gave me location suggestions, all brilliant and all are places I would love to go!

Then there was a twist in my plan....an interloper...yes, you guessed it...one of my naughty nieces is tagging along! This does affect my plans slightly but she is only allowed to come if she follows my schedule. I won't let her know that I will be adding a few excursions just for her! It also influences my choice of accommodation. Cost wise, it has actually worked out less than if we booked a package deal, which is good! Although still relatively expensive due to my last minute booking and it being a two week trip. All that being said I am looking forward to it and also to imparting my travelling wisdom onto my niece (the poor kid!).

The final details aren't yet final and I will regale you with those next week when I will need some kind of plan -but basically we will be starting in Dusseldorf and ending up in Dusseldorf but making a loop to Berlin and back. I should imagine I will need a holiday to recover but my niece will be on her summer holidays so will be able to sleep for a week when she gets back. I guess it will either give her the travel bug or put her off! Only time will tell but it's quite exciting.

This weekend I need to find time during IHSW to fine tune the plan - but I have to stitch - I mentioned I would have to to Ebony and she said....

"yes, you do auntie katy. You have to stitch because you need to finish my frozen picture that I asked for, for my birthday"

No pressure! But she is right, I do need to stitch...like the wind. I hope I can at least get the top third done and hopefully another third done during next week.

On top of this I promised my eldest niece we could go and see Inside Out on Friday! I am taking the middle one to Germany. I also need to pack!

I am exhausted just thinking about it! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Help needed! Travel advice. PST is back and on the loose..

So guess what?

I have decided that I really need a holiday - last years holidays were marred by illness and deciding to go and making plans for this year has well and truly been on the back burner. I guess I am a little apprehensive about it and have lost some of my solo traveller confidence! I don't know why because when I think about what I did do in the condition I was in - its dawns on me how stubborn I actually was, hehehe.

Most people plan trips well in advance or at least have some idea and usually I fall into that category, this year I have decided (last week) that I would take two weeks off and the sooner the better, I really need a break!

So I requested leave from work from 27th July till 7th August. Great right? This is where my lack of planning is most evident.

The school holidays all start here (England) that week - and a year or two ago there was a new law that children being taken out of school during term-time (for holidays) would have to pay a fine (or rather their parents would). Some parents would take their children out during term-time or there would be a few days overlap because the cost of holidays almost doubles during the school holidays.

Anyway...its not the best time to choose but I have decided and seeing as it takes me so long to do that I am sticking with it otherwise it means another two month wait! I'm not that patient. The second thing that highlights my poor planning is the fact that I haven't booked anything or have any idea where I might go! And a third, that also effects everything, is the fact that I am single and will be travelling solo - so last minute package deals are not such great bargains when you have to pay single supplements.

I have been browsing and still am no closer to making a decision on location - do I go somewhere and lounge or do I go somewhere that needs exploration or do I go somewhere and do both? Do I go for one week in one place and then move on to another the next week, or do I travel around a country?

All of this of course is dependent on what my budget will stretch to, but I am not a fussy traveller, if I opt to be on the go travelling here there and everywhere the I will happily stay in a Hostel or low end hotel as I am only there for sleeping. I always resent paying for a nice room that I won't get to spend time in.

If I travel about then I am currently thinking of Germany, but where do I start, what route do I take, do I focus on a region?....any other suggestions?

If I am going to stay put and lounge then, do I stay in the UK or some beach location such as France or Spain?

The reason I am writing all this is in the hope that you will have some suggestions - obviously, telling me to wait is not an option, so I would be very grateful regarding any travel advice. Those of you who have followed this blog in all its incarnations over the years will know about my Paranoid Solo Traveller posts (see the travel tab above) and may even be rolling your eyes and sniggering at me right now!

So...your challenge if you wish to accept is to help me come up with an itinerary for 24/25th July - 8/9th August (any 14 consecutive nights between those dates) leaving from any London airport. What would you do if you had two weeks?

Ok, I shall be back later to check up on you all! and maybe with some suggestions I have since come up with....

Quick Faery 66 update

So I left off here last Monday...

I managed to stitch for a couple of evenings but didn't get any done at the weekend, but am making steady progress, I will put this down till IHSW this weekend and probably start on Frozen tonight.

Here is my progress...

10 things about stitching with plastic canvas (30)

Okay so that is a ridiculously long title, not catchy at all, but I wanted to be clear...hehehe...

**I changed the name of the post! lol Nothing lasts forever...but trust me...it was really long!**

So this is it! My final list post...yes, yes, I took my time but its here!

Its actually a combination post, because whilst stitching this weekend my brain was whirring away and thinking about the task in hand and I made some notes in my mind as to what I would write in my next blog post. Well, after I had been mentally wittering away it did occur to me that I was liable to be accused of teaching my grandmother to suck eggs unless I made a point of stating that it really is aimed at beginners. However, those cross stitch lifers who so very kindly comment on my posts may have some extra tips too and feel free to add them.

So less of the waffling....but before I start the list...a little more waffling....

My last blog post was about the Christmas Ornie SAL that I have joined and will be participating in. It starts in August and I used my huge brain to calculate that I would have five months in which to stitch anything that I wanted for this Christmas and then promptly found a set of ornaments of which there are SIX!

So in my infinite wisdom...I decided to try stitching one of them to see a) how long it would take - as the ornaments I chose have about 1500 stitches each which is quite large for a small and b) what it would be like stitching it on plastic canvas instead of fabric.

Here is a reminder of the six ornaments...

I opted to stitch Mrs Claus (top left). And here is my list of ten tips or observations to consider when stitching a Christmas ornament on plastic canvas.

1. Fabric or Plastic Canvas.
These ornaments are stitched on plastic canvas but could be stitched easily on a fabric of your choosing. They do come out quite large, or at least I think they are large, but I guess it depends on the size of your tree and whether you have an artificial tree or a real one, but I think that if I did stitch them on a fabric I would choose a higher count, such as 18 instead of the recommended 14.

I can't even imagine how big they would have been on 11. Saying that if you did opt for 11 count plastic canvas then they wouldn't necessarily be tree ornaments and also, I would reduce the colours (see point to follow) and use a wool and use tent stitch, I think they would still look fab.

I chose 14 count plastic canvas, the pattern said you would need half a sheet (they come in A4 sheets generally) for each ornament. This is obviously an over estimate but with plastic canvas you don't need an edging as it doesn't fray. I cut a square and did allow a couple of rows extra on each side but this was to allow for me messing up my counting. I wouldnt recommend using half a sheet and then cutting out, it will be too much, and a smaller piece will sit better in your hand - as you won't be using a frame or hoop for this. Doing it this way would mean you could get all six ornaments out of one and a half sheets instead of three.

2. Threads

I used DMC and Madeira threads in mine. The chart gives both DMC and anchor numbers. I used Madeira as a replacement for Kreinik which was needed.

I love Joan Elliotts designs and a big reason is her use of colour and her palette selection for each design. She paints the pictures first (in watercolour I think?!) and then charts them and her designs have a lot of shading and thus colour changes. These subtlety's can really make the design but with a Christmas piece I don't think its entirely necessary.

Now, I know that some people can be quite particular about a design, but as long as you aren't selling it as your own and such things and its purely for yourself or a gift then I don't see any harm in making a few tweaks.

The Mrs Claus design uses 17....YES!! 17 colours. Here is a pic of all the thread I used except the three I forgot to add...the missing three are two peaches for the face and a pink for the cheeks.

You could quite easily not shade, you might be on a budget or a beginner who has yet to accumulate every colour in the DMC spectrum, and if you are using the 11 count plastic canvas and wool (as I suggest above) then keeping it simple with colours is the way to go.

So, one red, one green, white, black, golden brown and a yellow instead of the metallics. So that is just six colours - if you do use wool then you will still need the backstitch colours in the DMC/Anchor.

Another benefit is that it would save you some time as you wouldn't be constantly colour changing.

3. The chart
This chart is in the book Christmas Cross-Stitch Treasures by Joan Elliott. The book is in colour as are the patterns, the patterns are scaled to 14 count and you could almost lay your plastic canvas perfectly over the picture and it matched up, but the book is not so sturdy.

I used the chart in the book as is, and had the book open on the page that I was using, but the page started to fall out! Eek!

So, when I do the remaining set I will photocopy the page - the only problem with this is if you use the chart for the backstitch (I'll explain soon!) as you won't have it in colour...unless you have a colour copier in which case Yay!

Also, some people like to highlight the area on the chart when then have stitched it. For a small like this I wouldn't tend to do that and I didn't this time and of course I wouldn't colour in the book. So if you find you need to do that then a copy is best.

4. Working with plastic canvas

So, you have cut out your square, you have your supplies ready, the chart has been copied for your use and you are all set to go.

My method was to start at the top of the design and work down, changing the colour as I went, this can mean a lot of colour changes if you keep to the shading from the original design. I know some people use the park method on fabric but I wouldn't recommend it on plastic canvas as the plastic is clear and any colour behind it will obscure the holes - but each to their own and feel free to do whatever you are comfortable with.

I was surprised actually as I really did enjoy using plastic canvas this time and I found it much harder to make any mistakes! Although I did make one...which you will see soon enough!

As with fabric you can work either by doing tent stitch first and then crossing back over once you have marked the area in that colour or by doing a stitch at a time. You do need to be wary when stitching at the edges because you need to make sure that ...hmm...how do I explain this...you keep inside the edge when bringing the thread down...does that make sense? Because you can see through the plastic you will see that thread and when you are trimming the edges there is a risk of cutting the thread and those nearest stitches coming out. You don't want all your good work to literally come undone. I have made that mistake on this ornament...and its almost as if i did it on purpose to demonstrate to you...but I didn't.

So after several hours spread over a few days or weeks or just the one day (as I did) you may end up with something looking like this..

As you can see, the size of my plastic canvas is not much bigger than the design. Now the mistake regarding bringing the thread down is on the hat (I know it looks like it may be on the left shoulder but that is just stray strands that had not yet been trimmed).

Can you see it? I should have gone in a straight line to the bottom left corner of the square and  then  up to the top right.

The one chart mistake I made was that my gingerbread man has only three buttons and in the original design he has four. I don't think its the end of the world though and I think I got away with it.

The Madeira thread is used in three places where the pattern called for using Kreinik in citron. A thread I don't have. So I used a gold for the trim of the coat, a red for the coat (citron spots in the original)  - scroll up and have a look...I'll wait...and a silver for the rim of the glasses. For the coat and the trim I did not split the thread but used the full thickness, for the silver spectacles in the back stitch I used two strands. It isn't that easy to see, but when this is hanging on the tree, lit up by the twinkling fairy lights then you will appreciate the sparkle.

5. Back stitch

Back stitch! Lots of people hate back stitch but love its effect and Joan Elliotts designs literally spring to life when the back stitch is added. It takes longer than you think when back stitching and I am sure many stitchers have their own little methods.

Remember when I mentioned needing a colour chart for the back stitch? I don't use the chart when doing my back stitch. I look at the finished picture and work from that. If you look closely at the finished image above (what I am aiming for) you will see that the back stitch has been done square by square. I, personally, don't back stitch this way. I will do 1 by 1, but for longer stretches I will stitch 2 by 2 and on occasion as many as three. I do this because I like the look more than the other but again its all about preference.

Something else I do and learnt by trial and error was to leave the black back stitch till last, for example, the fur trim has red back stitch on it.  If I was to stitch the black first then there is a chance the red would go over the black edge and it would look less clean. So, that's what I do...all other colours and then the black. Oh! I also changed a bit of the back stitch by not stitching the black all the way across the gingerbread mans head, I just felt that it wasn't needed, but again feel free to follow the design! lol

6. French knots

In general, I avoid french knots, they never turn out how I would like them to and I would rather use an alternative such as a bead. I have never had to do french knots on plastic canvas...until today!

So I looked at the back of the book where it shows you how to do all the stitches, I read the instructions on how to do this but it never mentioned what to do when using plastic canvas, how exactly am I bringing the needle down at least a thread away from where I brought it up? Beads again befuddled me and so I had an alternative....I put a knot in the end of the thread and that was my french knot, I then trimmed any excess thread off, and tadaa a fudged french knot for plastic canvas. Its not perfect but it looks ok to me.

7. Trimming the canvas

I used my sewing scissors which were ideal, as they are small and sharp with a long blade. The canvas itself is quite soft ad easy to cut. The holes in 14 count are round (square in 11 count) and so when you trim, remember to cut as close to the edge as you can, unless you want a crinkly edge (like a stamp) which you may well want, but I have gone for a straight edged finish.

8. Finishing the ornament.

What I did like about this ornament being on plastic canvas was the ease at which you can have a finished finish, simply by putting some ribbon through the top and sticking the design onto some self-adhesive felt (then trimming the excess off).

Alas, I have no self-adhesive felt and so I haven't completely finished, but I did add a loop to the top. I didn't use the ribbon but some of the green floss. I chose this because my existing ornaments have floss loops and I liked how it looked.

9. Take time to admire the final design.

So, after the back stitch Mrs Claus came to life! I popped outside between the rain showers to get a snap in natural light.

10. Take a photo of your pet with almost finished ornament and think about whats next on your stitch list...

My plan was to stitch on Faery 66 and hopefully have finished half of it by the end of today....but what were we saying about best laid plans...anyhoo...I have some time left today to stitch on her and will show you my progress on her since last Monday. But for now.....here is a picture of Musey with the ornament....

So, I am all set for starting on Father Christmas in August! My first blogging challenge is done. I did check over my first post and honestly...I had like two things on the list! Both done. So my next challenge will be.....Coming up with a new challenge!

Feel free to add your own tips and tricks for working with plastic canvas, or stitching ornaments :)

Christmas Ornie SAL 2015

Hello!

So I have decided to join a SAL for Christmas Ornie's, the first needs to be completed by the end of August so I have plenty of time (famous last words!).

It is being hosted by Kaye at Kitten Stitching and if you want to join in the fun then click on the badge on the left sidebar.

Kaye has suggested some themes (other than the general Christmas theme) to see us through till December...

THEMES FOR 2015

August - Mr and/or Mrs Santa
September - Christmas Tree/Presents
October - Angels/Nativity
November - Snowflakes/ Snowman/Wintry scene
December - free choice

In preparation for this challenge I searched online for some official free designs and picked those that I thought I might stitch (I really should make this a pinterest board!) and was all ready for the list and to have to go on a bit of a search....

Well, I picked up a book that I bought last Christmas and found the perfect Christmas Ornie set that will cover all the themes above. This wouldnt have happened if I had expected it to be that easy.

The book in question is...Joan Elliott's Christmas Cross-Stitch Treasures...

I have almost all of Joan Elliotts books, there is just something about her designs that I love, I have however only stitched one Joan Elliott design and that was the Geisha...

So let me introduce you to the Christmas Roly-polies!

As you may have noticed there are five months and six ornaments and so I am going to attempt both Mr & Mrs Claus by the end of August.

August - Mr and Mrs Santa
September - Bear with Present
October - Angel
November - Snowman
December - Penguin

These are stitched on plastic canvas and backed with sticky backed felt. I have not yet decided if I will do them on plastic canvas (its not my favourite medium) and may opt for a higher count fabric instead.

To those of you who are also taking part I look forward to seeing what you will stitch and a Merry Christmas!! What?! Too soon?

Random stitchy update!

Its weird.

OK, so that is a weird way to start a post, but it is weird.

The 'it' I am talking about is my reluctance to write a 30th post and to complete the challenge...I know I need to do it, but...I guess I am not ready to end it all. I must do this today so we can all draw a line under it, hehe.

In other news, I had made the decision which was helped, in no small way, by doing this challenge to try and have a blogging schedule and a stitching rota.

The blogging schedule is really a way to keep me on track, I know that it is possible for me to write everyday and I really should but I just find some other excuse, and it really doesn't have to be a long amount of time. I thought about this a lot during the last weeks and had decided that Mondays I would post on something craft/stitch related, Wednesdays would be writing challenges, and Fridays would be anything I liked. It seemed like a good plan to have. These would be must do posts and anything extra would be exactly that 'extra'. Then something happened which I have taken as a sign from the universe that I should definitely write something and it was that one of my favourite writing challenges had been started up again, only thing is its on a Monday. Already that messes up my initial plan...aagh! Anyhoo, I have decided to wing it, that's right! Stick to my usual style and blog as and when...*sigh*...

Here is one of my Monday Mixer pieces (the ideas is to use some of the 9 words that are provided by the host):

“Hindsight is a beautiful thing” sighed Archie, one shandygaff too many and he went from a recluse to a revolutionary.
The alcohol fuelling his passion led him to protract the inevitable results of insobriety in the most tortuous of methods for those present. Having clambered atop a nearby fence, bottle in hand, he dropped his trousers to gain attention and began reciting his panacea interspersed with profanities. Coming under obloquy only served to incite him more as he took a gambol along the fence.  Regardless of his mingy manhood on display, he felt invincible both physically and mentally, believing he alone could verbally flense the government. He was sure of his nascent, and less sure of his footing as his arms flailed to grab air and he fell onto the unreceptive concrete pavement.

“Hindsight is a beautiful thing” sighed Archie as he lay staring up at the stars above him.

The stitching rota came about because I stitched on Faery 66 and then put her down to stitch on the sampler and was going to continue to stitch on that until IHSW, but Keebs said she was missing Faery 66 so I decided to alternate weeks. Thus my new stitching rota will be to swap projects every 7 days....

So, here is the sampler before:

And here is where I stopped and will pick up again from in 5 days:

As you can see I have opted for a creamy colour in the middle there as I am still working on making it blend together ok.

And Faery which I started on again on Sunday evening was here:

And I stitched again last night (and will do till next Sunday) is here today:

As you can see I am making steady progress.

I am apprehensive about the forehead but on close examination of the final image it actually looks about right, I am just curious as to how far away from this I will need to stand for it to look good! lol

I am hoping to have finished these pages by the end of this rotation so fingers crossed that works out! Then I have to choose whats next?? Back to the sampler? or a new start?

UPDATE: I just remembered I have that Frozen pic to stitch for Ebony! A little under 8 weeks...and yesterday she was talking about how I was stitching her something for her birthday from Frozen, because she likes Frozen and she likes watching me stitching....eek!

10 items added to my stash this month! (29)

The penultimate post! Can you believe it? Whad'ya mean YES!

Anyway...over the last four weeks I have been on the look out for things to add to my stash as it was almost non-existent, and now it has grown a little, just a few more things (about 5) and I will not buy anymore until I have finishes to show! But in July (yes, I do know its only the 3rd) my stash has grown by NINE  items...NINE! I have impressed myself with this, however, I did try to get some smalls as I didn't have any of them.

So...lets begin...

1. As you know on the 1st of July my Trick or treat arrived so here is a reminder of that.

2. Then came RAK gift of Aimee Stewarts Impossibilium. Now I say it was an act of kindness...but seriously....have you seen this chart! Sommething crazy, like 67 pages....but I have a plan...oh yes...me and my plans.

Beautiful YES but aye carumba.

Then I decided to get some inspiration from the sewandso Sale in the form of mainly smalls and a medium.

3. Prairie Moon Spring Trainin

4. Mill Hill Bunnies and Birdies

8. Prairie Moon Ram Flower

9. Primrose by Orchidea - apologies for the shoddy photo but it is based on a painting by Mucho Alphonso - the chart not the photo! lol

10. I don't have anything for number ten.....but...I feel naked knowing that I am one short and am going to look for a mini HAED....watch this space...

Ok...so I never made it to HAED - don't worry I will get there! but I bought a pattern off of Etsy for $1 - its for a small and consists of the Shield/Hydra & Avengers logo...why you ask? well, I saw this biscornu...and thought it looked coooooool!

10 posts I thought I would write about and didnt! (28)

Morning! It's a heatwave here in the UK and everything has begun to move at a sloth like pace. I am enjoying it! Some summer sunshine is good. I have been distracted from my posts however and am only two away from completion after this one which is VERY exciting..for me!

I must tell you all to go and visit Tiffany and see her 30th post where you will learn 10 things about her. She took the time to participate in this challenge with me and its been a great help, so a big THANK YOU TIFFANY!!

Todays post is just ten of the seventeen...YES! seventeen discarded list ideas...maybe there is one you would like me to do? I can add it as a bonus post if so. But, anyhoo...back to the business at hand....

1. 10 cakes to make you bake
2. 10 conversations I have with my cat
3. 10 basic knitting patterns you know you'll (kn)use
4. 10 seriously underused words
5. 10 top travel destinations
6. 10 things everyone should know about Wicked the musical
7. 10 comedians to giggle at
8. 10 lunches to look forward to
9. 10 English seaside holiday destinations
10. 10 habits I have to help me remember

Were any of these, ideas that you would write about?

And...whilst I am here, some stitchy news is that...my Lana Lawson Trick or Treat chart arrived! I now know why it is such a nice pattern...its full of blended colours, colour changes, and backstitch! Stitching this will take some determination, but its a lovely one and not so big that you can't see the light.  I am also considering stitching it on BLACK!! Somebody stop me....please...heheheh

In other annoying news, Serenity still hasn't arrived! Now, I don't know about you but I am off to check out the sewandso sale!
