Top 5 Tuesday #8 - Top 5 water themed charts

I am attempting to be more specific with chart categories, I hope you don't mind, and have all of March's picked out. As April is traditionally A to Z challenge month, the top 5 will be quick top 5's.

Today's theme of water was one that I didn't think I had actually stitched or had any in my stash...but then I remembered...in my stash I have one water design...

The Great Wave of Kanagawa by Hokusai - I got my chart from Diana70 on Etsy
Then I remembered that I am doing the Under the Sea SAL hosted by Lakeside Needlecraft, I have just finished the second part. I started on a slightly small piece of fabric so I am leaving off the seaweed and fish until the end. Here is it so far with the Octopus and Shark. I was holding the fabric at a slight angle when I took the photo, and I have used glow in the dark thread for the Octopus' eyes and the sharks teeth and belly. I changed the spot colour and sucker colour on the Octopus too and left out the black in the mouth on…

Top 5 Tuesday #7 : Top 5 food themed charts

So, when I thought of this I knew that it would be a bit tricky, not least for me so without further ado...some food related stitchy charts...

Stitchrovia

Durene Jones

Tiny Modernist

Kawaii Food

Vincent Van Gogh

OK, so the Van Gogh chart I do have in my stash and intend to stitch this in tent stitches as I have dreams of a french kitchen and would love this to be hanging on my wall.

So...please go and checkout Keebs, Tiffs and Emma's blogs (links on top-left) and see what they came up with, thats what I am about to do! See you there :)

Top 5 Tuesday #6 : Top 5 Animal themed charts

1. I am totally addicted to Durene Jones designs and it wasn't hard to find one in her etsy store with an animal theme :) How cute right? Not to mention she often has charts in the cross stitch magazines too that are equally to die for.

2. Jayne Netley Mayhew has a lot of books out with animal themes and I have a couple of them. There is something about her designs that are realistic but not photographic and I like that attribute. Here is just one of many awesome charts...

3. I an a fan of the silhouette designs. Here is a lovely one, i like the mixture of animals and the lovely fabric it is stitched on.

4. It will come as no surprise after seeing the above silhouette that I also like tribal designs like this elephant.
And at number 5....

Fractal animal lion!

What are your favourite charts?

Top 5 Tuesday #5: Top five BAP's

I’m late, I’m late for a very important date!

There is a reason which I consider to be valid…I struggled with this weeks Top 5, would you believe it? I have a burning desire to stitch a BAP but have yet to see one that grabs me, but that being said I do have one in my stash courtesy of Keebs and I have started one too….so I shall include them…

Day 11: Would you be a unicorn or a pegasus?

Ok, so imagine there is an apocalypse and just before death you are given the option to live in a magical world but you have to choose between a unicorn or a pegasus...what would you be?

Unicorn:
The unicorn is a legendary creature that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. (wikipedia)

Pegasus:
Pegasus (Ancient Greek: Î Î®Î³Î±ÏƒÎ¿Ï‚, PḗgasosLatinPegasus, Pegasos) is one of the best known creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine stallion also known as a horse usually depicted as pure white in color. (wikipedia

Hmmm...well...both greek and both white horses...but do you want a magic horn or magic wings?

I have a fear of heights so I shall be sticking with being a unicorn, even though many images show me with a huge horn! :D
