Back in March some of you may recall I went on ‘Tour’
with my eBook (links to all those posts are here – I may be bias but they are
fun and interesting mainly due to the hosts). I spent each week visiting other
people’s blogs, the bloggers themselves were fantastic and every stop on the so
called tour was different. I loved it and I loved the variety and mostly I
loved that these people who barely knew me were prepared to have me on their
blog AND some took the time to read my eBook.
I discovered a lot out about myself, my writing and about
the characters in my stories as well as themes in them and which I never
considered when writing. I had a laugh with funny questions, I made a playlist
for my horror story, I discussed parallel themes across the horror and the
rom-com and I genuinely felt like I had something to offer. I also recorded a
blog tour audio diary and made a video! I cringe at the thought but if you love
to see/hear other people babbling on then check out the links; Pasty Tour 1 - Pasty Tour 2 - Pasty Tour 3 - Pasty Tour 4
If you are new to my blog then let me tell you a little
about the eBook…

12 Days/Young 80
The eBook has two stories only in it; one is a rom-com (12
Days) and the other a horror (Young 80).
12 Days
The blurb: A romantic comedy; a man, a woman, a dog, a
challenge, romance, laughter, memories, love & hope.
The rom-com is about a young man and his romantic plan to
impress and propose to his girlfriend, he is not a natural but he improves over
the 12 days, the ending is a happy one because after all it’s a Christmas story.
I wrote this story 12 days before Christmas. Actually, I started 12 days before
Christmas and posted each day for the readers of my blog, as a Christmas gift.
I love Christmas (as I keep saying) and I love Christmas movies, I am that one
person who is always watching Movies24. I was less worried about this one as I
had received some feedback from readers.
‘12 Days (and I say
this as someone who doesn't generally enjoy rom-coms) is surprisingly funny
with a warm centre’
‘The story flowed
nicely, and was very easy to read. Form the beginning to the end, there were
lot of little surprises to enrich the story.’
‘Marjie Myers weaves a fabric striped with
hilarious gaffes and blunders, hemmed at the end by an unexpected twist and a
cheeky pun.’
Young 80
The blurb: A horror; a young woman, a foggy night,
a race home, trapped, scared, confused, crazy, an old woman, an empty room, a
lost love and hope.
The horror story is about a young woman who walks home from
work on Halloween, it doesn’t quite go to plan and although she makes it home
she doesn’t make it inside, more curiously the ending has a twist of sci-fi. I had
written a much shorter story, which provided the basis for this, during a
Halloween blog hop. This is actually the first horror story I have ever written
and I was very nervous and apprehensive about how it would be received by
readers of horror and if it was considered horror or not.
'In a rapid change of
pace, Marjie Myers tears me out of the embrace of Ryan and Sarah’s story, to
douse me with the chill of Halloween… the
suspense of Anna’s midnight walk builds ever darker… As the anxiety heightens,
Ms. Myers adds another signature wicked twist that leaves me stunned.'
'At first I thought
that it was going to be a run-of-the-mill slasher type of story, so I was
pleasantly surprised (is that the right way to describe a horror story?) when
it turned out differently.'
'Young 80 got me,
because all the time, I had no idea what was going to happen. All that was left
for me was to follow Anna's steps. Till the very ending.'
More comments/opinions/reviews can be seen on Amazon.co.uk/Amazon.com
& Goodreads and on the tour posts.

My decision to combine them into one book was made on impulse;
I wanted to self-publish an eBook so that when it came to possibly do the same
for my novel then I would be ready to do it. I also wanted a book cover that
depicted both stories but sat well together and I hope that it does that.
Why am I reminding you? Well, tomorrow 9th August
2013 and Bank Holiday Weekend (UK) 23rd August -26th
August 2013 it will be available to download for FREE. So, if you have friends
who read horror or rom-com then why not recommend they download this for FREE.
It also has a sneak peek into my novel ‘Act of Love’ that is still under
construction.
If you have read it then feel free to leave feedback below!
What did you like? What did you hate?
