This weeks Five Sentence Fiction has the prompt word Learning. I haven't managed to come up with a story but have written a short five sentence poem instead.
The lights off, but the doors ajar, an invitation for knowledge
and ignorance to spar.
They fill the space that once was empty and the battle opens
minds revealing plenty.
Then slowly a light begins to flicker, the door is flung
open, and information comes quicker.
At last the bulb is burning bright, illuminating wisdom in
its effervescent light.
So, never turn it off, never close the door, engage your
brain and learn much more.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and dont forget to download my eBook today for FREEEEE...;)

Fab advice. I love how you've portrayed learning here; the rhythm and the flow is beautiful. xx

Thank you lizzie - I think its never too late to learn and you can never know too much :)x
DeleteThere is a truth here that many seem to forget - no matter how good the teacher is, it is still up to the student to learn, to leave that door open. I have to tell you though, a few of my empty spaces that should have been filled long ago are still empty...
ReplyDeleteAlways good to see a poem on FSF!
Haha - I know that feeling, I also know that the problem with leaving the door open is that some of that knowledge can escape! I think its a teachers job to stick their foot between the door and the jamb to make sure that the student stays open to their surroundings and life in general. Thank you for stopping bu.
DeleteOpening the mind is a skill we all must learn The beauty we let in is never ending.
ReplyDeleteThat is so poetic and true, thank you.
