The Top 10 things that I am looking forward to in 2016
1. Posting my Top 10 Tuesday lists on time every week without fail!
I hold my hands up and confess that my midlife crisis has sort of pulled the rug from under my feet this latter part of the year. I love Top 10 Tuesdays and I am looking forward to carrying on with it in 2016 and I hope Keebs and Tiff are still gonna join me...and Bea too?
2. Create with Mates Meetup group
I started a meetup group....just let that settle in your minds for a bit...and on the 1st January a small group of introverted people with solitary hobbies met in the upstairs function room of a local bar. I was happy, it was a success I think, and I am looking forward to the next one....so watch this space!
3. Write daily
I recently went on a date and was talking about a story I am half way through and the guy said...you should definitely finish it as its obviously something you feel passionately about, I can tell by how animated you are. He wasn't wrong...talking about the story made me want to go home and write it...i have missed writing fiction this year, and so am hopefully going to write something each day to keep up with the habit.
4. Spend time with my nieces
I do spend a fair amount of time with them already but maybe one day a month with each of them on their own would be nice. Especially as they get older, they will probably want to spend less time with me.
5. Finding a space of my own
After moving back home to cope with the RA, I am now all sorted and admittedly I have been for a while, but mentally and emotionally I think I need my own space again. It may not be easy and it may mean a big move for me but I think I need it.
6. That elusive permanent job doing something I enjoy
As with birthdays and new years, I am prone to assess my life, with 40 coming up I am thinking I should be more of an adult than I am. I need too make a commitment and get a permanent job in something that I enjoy. Whatever that is!
7. Canada! Oh Canada!
I have long wanted to go to Canada and travel from Toronto to Vancouver and this year is when I hope to do that as a 40th birthday present to myself.
8. Boyfriend material
Ok, so we all know I am dating...badly...but I am hoping that by my birthday ( a good ten months away) I would have met someone who could be boyfriend material...
9. Read more
I just bought Stephen Kings latest book of short stories which is going to be the first thing I read this year...and i asked for recommendations earlier this year which i intend to read also.
10 Relax
Yep, I need to find something to switch my brain off....and that my dearest friends is....
STITCHING!!
Great list! Good luck with the meetups continuing and with everything else. I hope if you get to Canada we can find time to have coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! That would be awesome :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some great goals! But hey, where's stitching?
ReplyDeleteIts there at number 10! in capitals! hheheheh x
DeleteA wonderful set of goals! Don't be too worried if you don't complete 8, it's not something that can be rushed and generally happens when you least expect it! I wish you all the best for 2016 <3
ReplyDeleteHaha! I had to check 8 then...doesn't have to be a boyfriend but to meet a guy who will show me that they do exist! Hehe. I hope I can do most of these things. Starting today!
ReplyDeleteThese would make 2016 a terrific year for you, so the very best of luck with them all. And if you make it to Canada, make sure you tell us your schedule. you might get stuck meeting a number of us, like it or not! lol
ReplyDeleteYay! I would love to meet up Bea ;) whereabouts are you?
