This letter was particularly hard and mainly because I don't seem to have watched that many US shows beginning with D. It did however, make it easier for me to choose, and my choice was The Defenders.
Here is what IMDB had to say about the show;
Two flashy Las Vegas defense attorneys go to the mat for their clients.
This show was cancelled after the first season...CANCELLED!! It stars James Belushi and Jerry O'Connell and they definitely worked well together. I loved this shown and was disappointed to see it taken off air and replaced with another Law show but with a younger cast. I was disappointed and I still can't figure out why Americans didnt like it?! So please tell me.... IMDB has rated it 7.1 but it would score somewhere in the region of 7.4 from me. I personally, dont think it had time to develop and can only dream of them bringing it back :(

What I like
The cast
The setting of Las Vegas
The cases
The cast
Did I say the cast?
What I didn't like
Over-arching storyline sucked but most do in these shows which is always disappointing, more focus needed on them as well as the single stories in each episode.
Other 'D' shows
Dollhouse is a show that I have seen a couple of episodes of and have always intended to watch nore but haven't. Would you recommend it?
Where do you get this stuff? I haven't heard of either of these shows! Not a very good American, am I?
ReplyDeletehaha...these are the shows the US offers us :D How I miss The defenders...**sigh**
DeleteDollhouse wasn't bad. I don't even remember the Defender. Back in the 80's Dinosaurs was really funny and Dallas is probably the biggest show starting with 'D' to ever be on television.
ReplyDeleteDropping by from the A to Z Challenge. It's my first year.

Dallas v Dynasty. eh? Diff'rent strokes was also good :D
DeleteHi, Kate! I liked Desperate Housewives when it was on. The first season was the best. I'm enjoying Dallas these days. I want to get the original series on Netflix at some point.
ReplyDeleteHappy A to Z-ing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines
Hi Laura :D I saw a few episodes but never really got to watch enough to get into it. I have extremely vague memories of the original Dallas.
DeleteExcellent :) I'm actually thinking of moving to Vegas this summer. Great post!

Really?! Wow! That will be amazing...I hope you have a yard...? You could pencil me in for a visit as I have a tent! hehehehe Thanks for stopping by :D
DeleteMy favourite D-show isn't an American one, but I can't help shouting for Doctor Who! (Espeically as the new episode has just come out - happy~~~)
ReplyDeleteI've never given much thought where a show comes from, if there aren't some obvious signs, so now you got me thinking if I actually watched an US D show
Oddly...or not...I have not really sat and watched this show so can't say much about it. My great friend Keiley over at Keebles World has written about it in her post today - the girl is obsessed with it!
DeleteI haven't heard of this one. Maybe because it was cancelled after one season.
ReplyDeleteOf course I can't think of any D shows off hand right now. But the ones you listed above, Dallas and Diff'rent Strokes... liked both of them.
haha - good shows both, if it had been UK shows I would have had a few!
