Day 10: Have you ever seen a stand-up comedian? Who and how good were they?

Hey there,

So yesterday's post was slightly delayed, and this was because I never had the opportunity to get to a computer and also because when I normally would have (in the evening), I was at the theatre watching...you guessed it...stand-up!

It was a show with just one comedian, as in his show, and it was pretty good. His name is Ross Noble and he is erratic and loves to go off at a tangent.  I guess you would categorise him as doing observational comedy.

Overall I would score him quite highly with a 7/10, there was some silliness that tickled me, but there was some comedy that I found to be lazy. I guess it made everyone laugh so that counts as a win. It wasn't very organised (ad-libbed throughout) and there weren't really jokes. He has been performing for about 20 years though and has been on many TV show comedy panel games. Here is a clip:

Girls Best Friend: Part 1

Welcome dear followers!

The tide is high and we're moving on...to our next serial...Ryan & Sarah will be back for their wedding but till then I would like to introduce you to Milly. She is the leading lady in the new serial entitled 'Girls Best Friend'. I hope you will become a follower (see sidebar) and that way you will never miss an instalment.  I'm not sure what they should be, episodes, instalments, issues? Any ideas?

So lets begin...

Girls Best FriendMilly glanced up at the clock that was hanging on the wall next to the stationery cupboard and gave an elongated sigh. She had kept her head down all day, tried to stay busy and yet according to this ancient device of torture, she had only been at work 30 minutes. She sighed again at the prospect of it being another one of those days that drags along at a snails pace and slowly saps all life and willpower from you. A third sigh as she heaved herself up out of her chair and headed towards the photocopier room, ‘Y…

Tuesday Truths: At the Copa CaCairo!

Untitled Document Its another Tuesday :D
Last week we (I) discussed the issue of value focussing mainly on self-worth and the impact of social media on how you asses that.
This week I thought you might want less rant and more truth but as there are no prompts today I have to find my own prompt (as I did last week) and here goes...Twitsperation.

Thursday Truths...Tales of the Crypt

This story was requested by some good friends on Twitter, star Twuddies that are @HapRochelle & @LynnGerrard. There are unfortunately no photo's as this was pre-digital cameras! Got a cuppa? Sitting comfortably...then let me begin...

After graduating from university I decided to go travelling with my friend, she had been living in Israel on a Kibbutz for a year whilst I was doing my final year, and we had decided to take a month to see Israel, Jordan & Egypt.
I had never backpacked before but was confident and careless and safe in the knowledge that she had a list of instructions from a friend who had travelled around the same region previously. Everyone knows that if you have a list then you can’t go wrong…right?!
We also planned to spend 1 week in Israel, which was plenty of time to see everything that we wanted to, and my sister asked to come along for that segment of the trip. I think she was pleased to leave at the end of the week and get back to normality; many pe…

Friends with Kids

I am not about to regale everyone with tales about my friends with kids but to give you a quick review of the recent film entitled 'Friends with Kids'. There are "spoilers" so if you don't want to have the surprise ruined...look away now! I should also add that I am sarcastic but not without due cause.
Why I decided to go and see this movie
The film is out on general release in the UK today (08/06/12) and my friend had FREE tickets to see it last night. I had heard briefly about the film, and the title alone was enough to tell me that I didn't want to see it, but I knew that this film would be something that my sister would enjoy. As my friend had offered me the tickets I decided to go with my sister (who has kids!).

The Trailer

I watched the trailer yesterday morning in order to get an idea as to what the film was about. I couldn't just assume that it would be bad based on its title, right?! A good example of that is Cougar Town. I love that show, but woul…
