Day 11: Would you be a unicorn or a pegasus?

Ok, so imagine there is an apocalypse and just before death you are given the option to live in a magical world but you have to choose between a unicorn or a pegasus...what would you be?

Unicorn:
The unicorn is a legendary creature that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. (wikipedia)

Pegasus:
Pegasus (Ancient Greek: Î Î®Î³Î±ÏƒÎ¿Ï‚, PḗgasosLatinPegasus, Pegasos) is one of the best known creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine stallion also known as a horse usually depicted as pure white in color. (wikipedia

Hmmm...well...both greek and both white horses...but do you want a magic horn or magic wings?

I have a fear of heights so I shall be sticking with being a unicorn, even though many images show me with a huge horn! :D

Day 10: Have you ever seen a stand-up comedian? Who and how good were they?

Hey there,

So yesterday's post was slightly delayed, and this was because I never had the opportunity to get to a computer and also because when I normally would have (in the evening), I was at the theatre watching...you guessed it...stand-up!

It was a show with just one comedian, as in his show, and it was pretty good. His name is Ross Noble and he is erratic and loves to go off at a tangent.  I guess you would categorise him as doing observational comedy.

Overall I would score him quite highly with a 7/10, there was some silliness that tickled me, but there was some comedy that I found to be lazy. I guess it made everyone laugh so that counts as a win. It wasn't very organised (ad-libbed throughout) and there weren't really jokes. He has been performing for about 20 years though and has been on many TV show comedy panel games. Here is a clip:

Day 8: What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?

I thought this question was a fun one to kick of the weekend.

So...when did I last laugh out loud...like really laugh at something funny...it must have been couple of months ago (I am more of a snigger and smirk person) and I was watching 'Bridget Jones's Baby', when she is carried to the hospital...well that just tickled my funny bone...I do like physical humour.

Have you seen it? Did you laugh? What is making you laugh out loud today?

Day 7: Are you more like your mum or dad? In what way?

Morning,

I look more like my dad and his side of the family although I think as I have gotten older I have started to look more like my mum.

Personality wise, I think I get my antisocial behaviours traits from my dad and all my good ones from my mum and I guess a few bad ones too.

Its funny to watch my nieces and see how different they all are, yet how they all resemble their mum in looks and behavoiur (gained genetically and through environment). We recently unearthed a school report of my sisters from when she was 10 and reading it was the same as reading her 10 year old daughters!

Who are you most like? Do you actively try not to be like one of your parents?

Day 6: If You Could Time Travel, Would You Go To The Past Or The Future?

Its day 6 in the big brother house..oh wait...its not...just day 6 in #365. The self-imposed challenge where I answer a question a day (alternating between serious and more fun) and you respond in the comments so that I can get to know you all better :)

One thing I love about people is that we are all so similar yet so different and everyone has a story, an interesting story too, and this probably explains my love of genealogy. I just like to find out what shapes a person, and what makes us like the things we do, is some of it genetic or does it all stem from outside influences? If its genetic, can it possibly be inherited from an ancestor who was around hundreds of years ago? I have no answers but I would love to know, if any of you know of any books on the topic let me know...

I digress..lets look at today's questions...this is tough. I think I would like to go to the past and the future, can I do both? The problem with the past is that it if you go quite far back and aren't…

Day 5: Which is worse, failing or never trying?

Its serious day! Boooooo...just kidding...so what do we have here then?

This is a tough one for me to answer, instantly I thought...

"But of course, the answer is clear it is far worse to never try than to fail..."

about ten seconds after thinking this I also thought about all the things I hadn't done or tried for fear of failure.

Day 3: If you had to teach something, what would you teach?

For me there are two ways of answering this question,

What am I qualified in and could teach? What do I enjoy doing that I would love to teach? To answer the first interpretation, I have a degree in Physics and have in my distant past taught maths and physics at a secondary school in West Africa (High School) and I did enjoy it to an extent. I would never teach here in the UK, it would be a nightmare, but I imagine if you were teaching students who wanted to learn it may be rewarding. I used to like marking best and timetabling (as I was in charge of that) and as many bad days were met with good.
The second one...hmmm...let me see now...I can be quite patient, and would like to teach crafts but probably would enjoy doing arts and crafts projects with primary school children (age 4-8) a opposed to adults and such. However, if I could teach anything, I think English as a foreign language would appeal to me the most and I have toyed with doing a course in the past, so who knows!
What abou…

Day 2: What do you think cats dream about?

Hello Again

So today is silly question day, I shall be alternating, and what a question! I have a cat so I am obviously expertly placed to answer this, but if you are a dog owner then please feel free to tell me what you think dogs dream about, or any animal you want really.

What do you think cats dream about?

I believe that cats generally don't dream about anything, they aren't really prone to worrying and anxiety (not as much as a dog anyhoo) and I often look at my cat sprawled along the shelf above the radiator and think that her mind must be blank, she is laying there feeling warm and content and blissfully happy, not a care in the world.

Occasionally, but very occasionally she will twitch and its at these times I know she is dreaming about chasing something, and knowing Muse it is most likely a butterfly or a bee.

Here she is...

So what do you think cats dream about?

Day 1: When was the last time you tried something new?

Hey there,

I have tasked myself with writing more, and I think writing about anything and everything will help inspire me for my stories.

I wasn't sure what to write but then I came across a blog about 365 questions, I am guessing this is one a day for a year starting on January 1st but I am going against the grain and starting it today. This list was done way back in 2011 would you believe, and I am not going to tackle them in numeric order, but hop about a bit. I am also going to include some random fun questions that i have scooped up around the webiverse.

The questions I found are quite varied and hopefully will help me get to know you all a little better, as I would love for you to put your response to the question in the comments.

So today's question (is the first question on the list)...

When was the last time you tried something new? Hmmm, this is a good question. I like to try new things even if its just to learn that I don't like them. My mind instantly goes to le…
